Language Generation tools for university teaching of social sciences in Albania

Dr. Mirela Alhasani, Albanian MC carried out a successful scientific mission at the Human Language Technology Institute -INESC-ID in Lisbon from 25/07/2022 to 31/07/2022. She was hosted by Dr. Anabella Barreiro and her team at the INESC-ID hub. During her scientific visit to the Human Language Technology Institute in Lisbon, she was exposed to and illuminated on the current digital tools by the research staff at INES-ID. This descriptive training looked up, particularly for software packages tailored to constructive tech-merged teaching and learning processes during the COVID-19 pandemic in Portugal to be applied in ITC countries, in this case, Albania. The project’s overall goals and aims did not change from the initial project proposal and are still relatedto Working Group 5 aiming at the industry and end-user liaison. The end-users in this case are both academic teaching staff and the university students. The multi-modal digital tools need to be conducive to online class management and teaching/learning processes. This STMS is pioneering a mutual collaboration between computational linguists and lecturers of social sciences to build digital cohesion among the current EU members and future candidates like Albania for the next generation EU agenda. Hence, the host team led by Dr. Barreiro agreed on a future joint collaboration to build up user-friendly software packages reliable for quality teaching but also entertaining to generate active learning and effective self-regulatory assessment of university assignments. . This STMS comprises the first small step to a strategic EU pillar for quality digital education in a diversified Europe united by equal opportunities for multi-modal tools of knowledge acquisition and dissemination.
